The recognition that has meant the most to me over my career has not come from any single client meeting but from the kind of sustained commitment that compounds over time. During my time with MassMutual, I became the second youngest African American advisor in the firm's 175-year history to qualify for the Blue-Chip Council. At MetLife, I became the youngest African American advisor, and only the second in the firm's 155-year history, to qualify for the President's Council. Both programs recognize the top two to three percent of advisors nationally. I share those milestones not as personal accolades but because they reflect the standard I hold myself to in every client relationship.

My work today spans two areas I find equally meaningful. I work directly with families and business owners on the long-term financial strategies that shape their lives, and I play a key role in growing The Moody Street Group's financial professional network across New England and beyond. Both draw on the same underlying commitment. Financial strategies, to be worth anything, has to be genuinely customized to the person it is meant to serve.

I speak regularly on entrepreneurship, marketing, and financial strategy, and I believe strongly that financial literacy is one of the most consequential things a person can develop. Understanding how money works, how to protect it, and how to use it in service of the life you want to live changes the decisions people make, and those decisions add up.

I am a graduate of Bentley University in Waltham, Massachusetts, where I studied Finance, and I remain actively involved with the university as a member of the Alumni Association and the President's Club. Outside of work, I spend time with my family and on the golf course.

csteiner@moodystreet.com

As Investment Advisor Representative, Chad Steiner is dedicated to providing quality planning strategies to his clients.

Chad brings a perspective to planning that helps people understand how money really works and see the economics of all assets: Protection Assets, Savings Assets and Growth Assets. It is the coordination and integration of those assets that matters, not any particular company or product.

Chad Steiner started his career in Financial Services with New England Financial in 2001. He quickly became an indispensable asset to the General Agent’s Strategic Planning Team.

In 2004, Chad and 4 other advisors opened an independent planning firm in Westborough, MA. It is there that Chad took the reigns as the firm’s COO and CFO. For the next 7 years, Chad gained a reputation of serious, and product neutral planning for his clients.

Chad carved a niche in the Executive Advisory space over the last 14 years. Through his experience in understanding the Overlapping Challenges of Business, Family & Wealth, Chad has helped numerous business owners, executives and investors understand the unique relationship that is to have ownership in a business and what that means as a personal asset by coordinating and integrating the business financial model as well as the personal financial model.

Fast forward to 2015. Chad joined Newton based boutique planning firm, The Moody Street Group, as Investment Advisor Representative.

Chad and his wife Terri reside in Princeton, MA on their mini farm and he has two adult step-children, Sarah and Adam, who both live nearby in Holden and Worcester.

Managing Partner

eewing@moodystreet.com

My path into financial services began in a laboratory. After completing my doctoral work in Biochemistry at the University of Toronto, I spent years as a research scientist before making a career change into financial services in 1982 with AXA Financial Partners. The precision and analytical discipline of scientific work translated well into this profession, and helping real people build toward their financial goals drew me in fully.

Through my time with AXA and then with New England, I built my practice and moved into agency development. There, I became the first minority woman to serve as General Agent in New England's history, a history that extends back to 1835. That role reinforced a belief I had already developed: developing the professionals who serve clients is just as important as serving clients directly. Training and mentoring new financial services professionals has been a consistent part of my work ever since.

The Moody Street Group was built on a premise I was glad to help establish. Clients in the Greater Boston area deserve the kind of attentive, personal service that a focused, community-rooted firm can provide, and I was instrumental in forming this firm to do exactly that. I serve as Managing Partner today.

I live in Marlborough, Massachusetts, with my husband, Derek.

jbreedlove@moodystreet.com

In 1980 I entered the Financial Services field and began serving the needs of individuals, families, professionals, and business owners. When asked why I wanted to enter the field in my initial interview, I indicated I wasn’t sure, but I wanted an opportunity to be successful and to help others. The work we do became personal early when, a potential client I had been meeting with died in an accident before we put a plan in place. What had previously felt like an academic exercise became very personal, which has helped fuel my passion ever since.

After more than forty years in leadership, I guide The Moody Street Group with the same passion that got me started. My focus is on the advisors in this firm, giving them the support, the training, and the resources to do their best work for the people they serve. That is what I set out to build when I founded this firm in 2011, and it still drives what I do each day.

Within the industry, I have been fortunate enough to qualify for numerous leadership awards from current and prior firms and industry organizations. As a past president of a Local GAMA association, I continue industry involvement as a member of The National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors (NAIFA) and Financial Security for All (FINSECA), organizations.

Growing up in Southeast Kansas and Southwest Missouri, and as a graduate of Boys Town, Nebraska, and Colby College in Waterville, Maine, with a BA in European History afforded a diverse personal and educational experience. My wife Nga and I have lived in Waltham, Massachusetts, for many years, which is where our firm is located. We have two sons, a wonderful daughter-in-law, and five special grandchildren.

jorthman@moodystreet.com

Twelve years in human services changed how I think about helping people. Before I entered financial services, I spent more than a decade working with individuals facing significant personal and emotional challenges. What I watched my colleagues and mentors do, day after day, was find realistic pathways forward for people who felt stuck. When I saw a close friend apply that same instinct in a financial context, and watched someone's situation genuinely improve as a result, I understood that financial planning and human services had more in common than I expected. I made the shift, and I have been in this industry for more than forty years since.

What I do today, whether working with an advisor building their practice or sitting across from a client working through a complex problem, comes back to one thing: helping people see what's possible. The financial picture often looks more limiting than it actually is, and a significant part of my job is clearing away that distortion. People I have worked with over the years have said I make sense out of chaos, create options they didn't know they had, and always put the client first. I take that feedback seriously.

I grew up in Boston and have lived in Bellingham, Massachusetts, for many years, where I served as President of the Bellingham Business Association for a decade. When I am not working, I am usually reading, biographies in particular, spending time with friends, or with my siblings. I have one son and four grandchildren.
